Oh Frose
You delight my senses
rose, pink, dry
raspberry, sweet, tart
lemon, sunny, bright
You chill my insides on a very hot day
cold throat
margraine
ice crystals (ok alcoholic slush) sluicing through my veins
And let us not forget,
you come together in a jiff
open, pour, freeze
mash, stir, macerate
strain, pop, puree…
oh, and sip poolside!
In the immortal words of Bartles & Jaymes: “and, we thank you for your support.”

Recipe:
1 bottle dry rose wine
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup raspberries
1 lemon
Directions:
- Pour the wine into ice cube trays and freeze.
- Mash the raspberries in a bowl. Add the sugar. Juice the lemons into the bowl and then put the squeezed halves into the bowl as well. Stir, mash, beat up the berry mix and let it sit on the counter to macerate for at least an hour – could be done in the fridge if you’re thinking ahead.
- Strain the raspberry mix through a fine sieve into a bowl.
- Put the frozen rose cubes into a blender and add raspberry lemon syrup to taste. Make sure to save some syrup if you have to process the wine in batches. I used 1/3 cup syrup to a half bottle of wine.
