Bet you can’t say that 5 times fast. What is this concoction? Well. It’s not a kids cereal. It’s one of the more experimental treats in these frozen files. Overripe bananas, coconut rum, Goslings Black Seal Dark Bermuda Rum (sorry to use it this way T), and heavy cream. Think of this as ice cream with built in sauce.
Bananas become much easier to mix by hand if you freeze them and then thaw them before using them in this recipe. You could also add 1/4 cup of cocoa powder if this isn’t a crazy enough mash up for you.
Boozy Banana Cocoa Ice Cream
4 ripe bananas
1 cup cream
1 egg
1/4 cup coconut rum
1/4 cup dark rum
1. Mash bananas, add cream and egg and whisk together in a saucepan. Heat gently, stirring for about 5 minutes until it thickens. Place in a container to chill. Stir in both rums. Cover and chill.
2. Churn in ice cream maker.
